Cookie policy

This policy describes the use of cookies and other tracers on the ticketing platform https://ticket.e-cosplay.fr (hereinafter "the Platform"), published by Association E-Cosplay, in accordance with article 82 of Act no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended (the "French Data Protection Act"), with Directive 2002/58/EC ("ePrivacy") and with the guidelines and recommendations of the CNIL (the French data protection authority) (deliberations no. 2020-091 and no. 2020-092 of 17 September 2020).

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. It allows the site to store information relating to your browsing (session, preferences, security, etc.).

The notion of "tracer" also covers similar technologies: browser local storage (localStorage), pixels, audience-measurement identifiers.

2. Legal framework

  • Tracers that are strictly necessary for the operation of the service are exempt from consent (article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).
  • Any other tracer (non-exempt audience measurement, error tracking) is only placed or activated after your explicit consent, freely given, informed and unambiguous, obtained via the banner displayed on your first visit.
  • Continuing to browse without acting on the banner does not constitute consent: no tracer subject to consent is activated until you have made a choice. The corresponding boxes are unticked by default.

3. Strictly necessary tracers (no consent required)

These tracers cannot be disabled via the banner because the service cannot operate without them: without a session cookie or security token, logging in, the basket, payment and ticket control are impossible. You may nevertheless block them via your browser (see section 7), at the cost of degraded operation.

None of these tracers is used for advertising, profiling or resale purposes.

4. Tracers subject to consent

Further details:

  • The support chat (chat.e-cosplay.fr) is loaded on every page: it is the service's support channel, not a measurement or advertising tool. If you are signed in, your email address and first name are passed to it so that you do not have to type them. It places no advertising cookie and passes nothing to third parties.

  • Zen is an audience-measurement solution self-hosted by Association E-Cosplay and served from zen.e-cosplay.fr, a subdomain of the association: no third-party provider is involved. It places no advertising cookie and no persistent identifier: the data is anonymised and used for statistical purposes only. No data is transmitted to third parties.

  • E-Monitor is the error-tracking tool self-hosted by the association at monitoring.e-cosplay.fr. It collects only technical information (error message, browser, page concerned) in order to fix malfunctions. It places no cookie and writes nothing to browser storage.

  • Consent is obtained service by service: you may accept audience measurement and refuse error tracking, or vice versa.

  • The Platform uses no advertising cookie and no third-party service such as Google Analytics or a social-network pixel.

  • Payment is processed by Stripe on its own secure pages. Any tracers that Stripe may place during payment are strictly necessary for the security of the transaction and for fraud prevention; they are governed by Stripe's policy.

5. Managing your consent

  • On your first visit, a banner allows you to accept all, refuse all, or choose service by service (tick boxes, unticked by default).
  • Refusing is as simple as accepting: both buttons are presented at the same level (CNIL recommendation).
  • You may change your choice at any time via the "Manage my cookies" button in the footer or the "cookie" badge displayed at the bottom of the screen: the banner reopens, displays your current choice for each service and immediately applies any change, activation or deactivation, without reloading the page.
  • Your choice is stored for 6 months; after that period, the banner is presented to you again.
  • Refusing a tracer in no way degrades your journey: you can buy a ticket, receive it and have it checked at the entrance without accepting any optional tracer.

6. Who places these tracers?

  • Association E-Cosplay (publisher): session and security cookies, preferences, basket, consent, support chat, Zen, E-Monitor.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (security and delivery processor): strictly technical cookies.
  • Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.: tracers strictly necessary for payment and fraud prevention, on its own pages.

The Zen and E-Monitor tracers are served from domains belonging to the association: no third-party advertising domain is contacted. The audience-measurement script is loaded only after your consent, and it is removed from the page as soon as you withdraw it.

7. Configuring your browser

You may also configure your browser to block or delete cookies:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions

Please note: blocking strictly necessary tracers prevents the Platform from operating properly (logging in, basket, payment, ticket control).

8. Personal data and your rights

Tracers may involve the processing of personal data (anonymised IP address, session identifier). Such processing is detailed in the privacy policy, which also sets out all of your rights (access, rectification, erasure, objection, withdrawal of consent, etc.) and how to exercise them with the Data Protection Officer (rgpd@e-cosplay.fr).

9. Amendments

This policy may be updated at any time, in particular in the event of changes to the regulations, to the CNIL's recommendations or to the tracers used. The version in force is the one published on the Platform together with its update date. Any substantial amendment will give rise to a fresh collection of your consent.

10. Governing law

This policy is governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the use of cookies on the Platform shall be submitted, failing amicable resolution, to the competent French courts.
